REVIEW

Synopsis
Living a lie, Matthew ‘Mattie’ Alexander is exhausted. It’s not easy to keep up the pretence, the deceit, but it’s safer. Coming out to a world who so easily hate takes a courage he’s yet to find, so he pretends – pretends to be into women – pretends to love being a part of the university’s football team. It keeps him safe, hidden.

Until he meets Julian.

From the moment they first meet, Mattie knows life is about to change. He’s yet to determine if it is for the better or worse.

Living life through laughter, Julian is lonely. Without the jokes, the humour, he would be living on the edge of depression. Succumbing to his controlling father’s demands, Julian finds no joy in the path laid out before him.

Until he meets Mattie.

As soon as they cross paths, Mattie has the power to drive Julian’s man parts crazy with lust. But can lust be enough to help Mattie out of the closet, and guide Julian into a happier place?

Limits will be pushed. Rules will be broken. But it’s only together, that they will have the strength to overpower fear, fear of themselves and fear of others. Just how far are they willing to go in the aim of coming out?

I first have to admit that Lila Rose broke my M/M Cherry!!! And I'm sort of glad that it was Mattie and Julian's story that broke it. LOL

We first met Mattie and Julian in the first book of the Hawks M.C Series, Holding Out.
With each passing book, these two characters, especially Julian have forged a very special part in my heart. To be honest, his place in my literary heart was forged in Black Out, when his protective manner over Clarissa was taken to the next level when he shot her sister. For the loyal, fun-loving, Julian that was extreme and it made me wonder what horrors in his life had triggered that.

Well if you've wondered the same thing, the be sure to read Coming Out, it answers so many questions and will leave you wanting to wrap your arms around Julian and tell him he's not alone, that everything is going to be okay!!! The pain he endures at the hands of his family and the public in general is just plain wrong!!!

Mattie is strong, even stronger then he's come across in the first 4 books he's been featured. I felt for him, trying to keep his sexuality a secret must've been exhausting mentally and emotionally and I was so very happy when he came out. He really is a very special character!!!

Overall this was another amazing book by Lila Rose.
It had me in stitches from laughing at Julians antics.

It had me in tears. (Keep tissues handy)

It had me so very angry that I wanted to get up and kick some serious butt.

It left me reflective on many things. We as a society can be so close minded on lots of things especially homosexuality, that we fail to realize just how hard it is on these young men who feel this way, but are ashamed of what they're feeling because to most of society its wrong. We as people should love other for who they truely are, not for who or what we want them to be.
The world needs more Julian's :)

Thank you Lila Rose for another amazing book, and for opening up my love of reading into another genre.
For allowing us a glimpse into the before life of Julian and Mattie. Can't wait for more Julian and co :)

**** awesome stars
