“Just tell us what you need and we’re your men.”

Ryan’s teasing, upbeat personality kept her smiling and she immediately felt at ease. “Get naked and act natural,” she said, somehow managing to keep a straight face.

Max groaned. “Great. Now there’s two of them. Don’t give him permission, Mandy. We’ll never get his clothes back on.”

“Fine,” she huffed, breaking out her best pout. “You will have to take your shirts off, though.” Max flashed a flirtatious glance her way that left her blushing as he stripped his shirt off. Oddly, she knew he didn’t mean it. Some people were overtly more sexual than others were. It was more of a vibe he owned. It was as if he couldn’t help himself. Of course, the knowledge did nothing to stop her face from burning every time he turned it in her direction. The third time blood flooded her cheeks, she felt Knox’s heat pressing into her back. Her heart slammed against her chest at the contact.
He was everywhere. Overwhelming. Unmovable.

“He’s not for you.” His breath fanned across her neck as the whispered warning rang in her ears. The bite in his tone rolled over her skin. As he strode away, she watched the smooth movement of his body. Untamed. The word floated through her mind and she couldn’t let it go.
He was a predator. Each time he was near, a shot of adrenaline pumped through her veins when she survived the encounter. One day, she wouldn’t.

After a few posed shots, Mandy focused on the action. “I’d love to get as many pictures as I can, if you want to take turns sparring. I’m not picky. However the three of you choose to pair up is fine with me.”

Knox gave her a sharp nod, and Ryan came over to stand at her side on the edge of the mat. Squaring off, Max and Knox circled one another. Staring down at the digital screen, Mandy zoomed in on Knox and her chest tightened even as she continued snapping pictures.

“Better Max than me,” Ryan said startling her with his tight tone.

Keeping her focus on her task, Mandy tried to keep the curiosity from showing in her voice. “Scared of getting your ass handed to you, huh?” she teased.

“An ass-kicking I can handle. I have no desire to die. Underground fighters train to compete with only one rule in mind. To the death. I mean, judging by Knox’s lifestyle, the money is good, but it takes a certain mentality to go into every match to kill or be killed.”

Mandy could hear her heart pounding in her ears. Her gaze slid over his body with a new eye as she searched for any truth to Ryan’s claim. The light glimmered off the silver rings in his nipples. Sleek muscles flexed and rolled as he poised for any opening. There wasn’t a hint of emotion on his face when he found one and took Max down to the mat. All the deep scars and bruises covering his body made themselves known in light of the new insight. Appearing content with a simple submission, Knox helped an unscathed Max to his feet.

“Oh, good. He didn’t kill him. I am a bit attached to him, after all.”

Knox looked in their direction at Ryan’s words. Raw sensuality dripped from his pores. His eyes darkened with lust. Electricity charged the air between them. Excitement pounded through Mandy. Her nipples ached and a tingle began at the base of her spine.

Ryan cleared his throat. “Whoa,” he muttered under his breath. “He’s going to do such naughty things to you and I want details,” he sang as he walked away heading in Max’s direction.

Leaning against the cool wood of the hotel room door, she met his stare trying hard not to smile like an idiot.

“This was fun.”

Drew’s eyes flashed. “If you ask nicely, I’ll let you take me to bed.”

She shook her head at his antics. “What if I’m not feeling especially nice?”

Drew brushed his hand over her hip. “You’re right. You do feel naughty,” he agreed. Holding her stare, he bent closer, giving her time to protest his advance. The door opened at Aubree’s back. If she hadn’t hit the solid wall of Max’s chest, she might have ended up sprawled across the floor. Tilting back her head, she took note of the angry expression on Max’s face before switching her gaze back to Drew. His eyes danced with humor as he mouthed, “Denied,” and
Aubree slapped her hand over her mouth to smother her giggles.

“Have a nice night, Drew.” Drew ignored Max’s snarling words.

“May I see you again?”

“I’d like that,” she answered without hesitation.

Max growled. At the sound, Drew flashed him a cocky grin before giving her a wicked version of it and turning away. As soon as he moved out of the doorway, Max slammed it closed, focusing his ire on her. She’d never seen him truly angry before now. She laughed nervously.

“Are you drunk?”

“No,” she answered, incredulous. “I’ve had two glasses of champagne all night.”

“Your face is flushed.”

Aubree shrugged. “I’m happy. I had a good time.”  Max prowled toward her. The hard set of his jaw caused a flutter of desire to run through her. “Did you forget who you came here
with?”

Unable to think of a single retort, she shrugged again. “I’m young and single. Why shouldn’t I enjoy myself?”

Max’s eyes flashed dangerously. His tone had a bite to it when he spoke. “You are not single.”

She writes sweet romances, horror, inspirational, picture books and poetry. There are several projects in various stages of completion and there are always characters and stories waiting for their chance to finally get out of her head and onto paper.

“How much longer will y’all be playing tonight?” She didn’t know what else to talk about but she also didn’t want to leave him right away.

“About another two hours,” he answered, and as if her question reminded him of the fact he should be on stage already, he motioned toward a swinging wooden door. “If you head through there, you’ll be right beside the stage. You know, just in case you’re interested in seeing the show up close.” He looked so hopeful she couldn’t help but laugh.

“I’m interested.” She left her answer hanging, hoping he got the hint she was interested in more than only his show. A look of pure wickedness crossed his face and she instantly regretted her words. There was something about him. It made her wonder if he was more than she could handle.

“Time to go, Wade!”

He glanced over her shoulder and motioned he was on his way to whoever yelled for him. A spike of longing hit her without warning. She didn’t want their time to end. When his eyes met hers, she wondered if he felt the same way. “Maybe I’ll see you afterwards,” she said attempting to keep the hope from her voice.

The bright lights from the stage flared to life and he smiled. The change in him was almost miraculous. She felt the happiness inside of him skyrocket, and she had to stop herself from pushing him toward the center of the stage in order to feed his obvious passion. “Go,” she said urging him on when he still hesitated. “You’re keeping me waiting. I’m excited to hear you sing.”

“Now how can I resist such a statement?”

“You don’t. Now go,” she ordered and he began walking backward toward the stage while keeping her in his line of sight. She wanted to laugh at the playful look on his face. When it became obvious, he wasn’t going to go away until she did, she shook her head and pushed her way through the swinging door.

“Morgan,” he called, stopping her. Looking back over her shoulder, she raised her eyebrows in question. “I’m interested,” he said causing her to freeze in her tracks and turn completely around. Without waiting for her to respond, he jogged onto the stage. She kept her eyes locked on the way his wrangler jeans hugged his sexy ass and his white t-shirt stretched across his shoulders until he was out of sight. She was in so much trouble with this one.
