Books and Friends: Tell us a bit about yourself. What make you tick?

Sarah O'Rourke: We’re actually two besties who call each other Crazy One & Crazy Two. We’re both born & raised in the Southern United States, which deeply affects our writing because we write what we know! We love our families, our caffeine, and our books....not necessarily in that order. 

We would give up our lives for our children, but some days, we would also be willing to sell them to the circus if the price was right. Our husbands are usually the inspiration for our alpha heroes...the good parts, the bad parts and the crazy parts!

B&F:  Why writing?
SO'R: Originally, when Crazy One started writing, it was stress relief because her husband was deployed in a foreign country. Crazy Two started writing as stress relief from her job. We can both lose ourselves in telling a story...and at least in fiction, we can make the characters do what we want them to do! The people in our real lives don’t listen that well!
B&F: Which authors have influenced your writing? 

SO'R: We adore Margaret Mitchell...her ability to tell an epic and never lose sight of her main couple is legendary in Gone With the Wind. If we can write just one iota as well as she did, we will be very happy!

B&F:  Who is your biggest inspiration? 

SO'R: Our mothers! Both of us have been blessed with strong Southern mothers who are not afraid to kick us in the butts when we need it. Each of our mothers have been through some horrible things in their lives, but have bounced back with resiliency and grace! Crazy One’s Momma is one of our biggest supporters – and is not afraid to tell us when a book draft needs to be better! Crazy Two’s Momma has been chief cook and bottle washer off and on for the past six months while books are coming out...and her granddaughter prefers her, anyway!
B&F: Who are some of your favourite authors? 

SO'R: Harper Sloan, Tara Sivic, Aly Martinez, Aurora Rose Reynolds, Linda Howard, J.D. Robb...this list could go on and on and on for days!

B&F:  How many books have you written all up and what are their titles?

These four feisty sisters fight with each other, love each other, and annoy each other...and the alpha men who love and protect them! B&F:  Do you have a favourite character? What makes them special?
SO'R: Absolutely! Crazy One’s fave is Faith McKinnon...because she has a lot of the same characteristics! Crazy Two’s all-time favorite is Patience McKinnon...she’s stubborn, determined, and downright ornery sometimes.

B&F:  What’s next on the cards for you?
SO'R: We’ve got two more books in the works....Ready, Willing & Abel will be released in late Winter 2014, and An Honorable Man will be released in mid-2015! These are the next books in the Passion in Paradise series. And who knows about Sizzle....there just might be another book or two that will continue the crazy story of Molly & Devil!
